Both of you have the greatest memory. Remembering names the way you do is insane.

  • Alicia says:

I would like to say – that there are some businesses downtown that are not associated with Scientology – and they are trying so hard – Roxy’s, Clear Sky Restaurant, Tequila’s, Downtown Pizza, Soul Sicilian, Pour Yours, Vera’s Kitchen all on Cleveland street that are standing up to the church. These are our neighbors and we support them all the time. The businesses that are scientology owned and run – locals know.
On another note the CRA Department with the City has grants for businesses to open in downtown. So please open an ice cream shop

    • Deb says:

I will order something from Vera‘s kitchen soon to support them. I want to support every non-Scientology business I can.

just came to catch the latest episode and realized i somehow missed last week… this NVXIUM episode is good. you guys really found your groove

  • Anna Yasueda says:

How is it possible after the the Normandy project and Lisa Mcpherson s death that SCN was able to continue to buy up Clearwater? How can the city counsel put up with this bullshit. Why treat them as honorable citizens when they’re not?
    Please explain.
    Thanks

  • Bev says:

I really love this show! It’s been mentioned in a few episodes that people only get paid $50 a week. How do they survive? Do they have jobs outside of Scientology? It hurts my brain!

  • Carrie Chludzinski says:

This was such an interesting episode. I didn’t know anything about downtown Clearwater. I would be interested in an episode about Qanon. I believe this is cult. They blindly follow and believe everything told to them by an invisible source. They inspire violence, and they somehow tie all this to God. I don’t understand it.

  • Virginia says:

Appreciated this episode so much. Huge thanks to Mark Bunker for continuing to try to help our city thrive. Looking forward to a day I can walk freely downtown!

  • Shannan says:

Please open an ice cream shop in Downtown Clearwater. My in laws have a condo in Tarpon Springs and I would buy them gift certificates and send them there. When we visited we made them take us on a drive by and they got a stern warning not to get involved with Scientology.

    Hi Mike and Leah
I loved your tv show and now love your podcast! I’ve learned so much. I have a question for you: What happens to the Sea Org employees who become too old to work? Evidently they have no pensions or savings for retirement. Does Scientology take care of them in their old age? Thanks Martina

  • Veronica says:

    Hi Leah and Mike!

Love the podcast. You two have really found your groove. I didn’t watch the A&E show, so you may have addressed in that series.

Many of your guests you both had less than awesome encounters with (judging by comments made in episodes) when you were both still “in,” what did the apologies look like once you guys were “out?” Was that difficult? Were there individuals who were like “f-off!” ?

  • Will McDermott says:

Mike, Leah and all the defectors are doing an amazing job shining a light on this cult and it’s practices with your amazing podcast, thank you.

Do you or Leah ever worry that you will go back to Scientology to stop the continuing fair gaming you are both receiving like Marty Rathbun?

  • Deb says:

As far as businesses, I would love to see a non-Scientology sound stage and film production facility built in downtown Clearwater. An ice cream shop might piss them off a little bit but film production would piss them off a lot.

  • DK says:

Hi Mike and Leah! I love what you both are doing and fighting for. I fell in love with Clearwater in 2000, which prompted me and my family to move to Florida. We live in Orlando, but my in-laws live in Clearwater. We avoid downtown due to the large presence of Scientology. We would love to support the Non-Scientology owned businesses. Can you post a list of these businesses, so we know which businesses we can support when we go to Clearwater?

  • Jodi Van Zaig says:

I protested against Scientology and went to a Lisa McPherson memorial in Clearwater. I was honoured to carry the wreath. You guys are doing an awesome, courageous job.

  • Kristy says:

I just listened to this episode and it was so fascinating. I am so glad that the city of Clearwater is now standing up to this cult. Thank you all for doing what you are doing to expose Scientology.
